Bio

Angela Castro is a fine artist originally from Oklahoma. She is currently located in Jonesboro, AR with her husband and daughter. Angela primarily utilizes acrylic paint and ink on canvas, creating vibrant works featuring succulents and florals against dark backgrounds. This striking contrast invites viewers to immerse themselves in her art, offering an escape from reality, much like the experience she finds while painting. For Angela, art serves as a therapeutic outlet that helps her manage anxiety and depression.

Castro earned her Bachelor of Arts in graphic design from Northeastern State University in 2005. Between 2006 to 2010, Angela had her photography accepted into many shows including OVAC's (Oklahoma Visual Arts Coalition) Momentum and IAO's (Individual Artists of Oklahoma) Biting the Apple. She had a solo exhibition, Oklahoma in Polaroid, in the North Gallery at Oklahoma City's Capitol in 2010.

Recently, Angela has pursued fine art and art education courses at Arkansas State University. She has had her paintings accepted into juried shows at BAM (Bradbury Art Museum) and has been showcasing her art in numerous festivals including the FOA's (Foundation of Arts) Oasis.

She is also a member of the Delta Create Art Alliance and the Northeast Arkansas Visual Art League.
